I am originally from Yankton, South Dakota and graduated from the University of
South Dakota - Vermillion in December 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
My emphasis is photography, but
I originally went to school to be a comic book
artist. I am currently finishing my Master of Arts degree in Special Education at USD.
My student teaching placement
was in Houston, Texas in the Aldine Independent
School District. I taught at the
Jewell Simpson Houston Academy, teaching 5th
and 6th graders Photoshop, and
at Dwight D. Eisenhower Senior High School,
teaching Art I, II, and Advanced
International Baccalaureate Art.
I have been teaching K-12 Art at St. Mary since 2010. I absolutely love teaching
at St. Mary; it really has been like a second family for me. During the 2011-2012
school year, I was selected as the Runner Up for Teacher of the Year. It was
such an honor to be recognized for all of my hardwork and love for teaching.
In my spare time, I love to ride my motorcycle, kayak, and play disc golf.
My wife, Jennifer, my step-daughter, Grace, and I currently live in Sioux Falls.
